Abstraction is not a choice for me. It is how I think. It is how I understand space and connect to the organic influences that are embedded in my work.
The paintings I make today are influenced by the work I made as a ceramic sculptor for over twenty years for which I received many awards and grants. My art has been showcased at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA, as well as numerous galleries including the Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston, MA. My grants include a MCC Artist Award in the Crafts category.
My paintings are built by layering patterns that act as structural components defining the space on which forms imbued with life seem to grow. They are bold and imaginative offering a visual escape with endless interpretations.
All Nancy's paintings are also available as Giclee prints, offering size options that will meet your needs.
